74<p>The assembler recognizes both the <small>IEEE</small> floating-point instruction and
75the hexadecimal floating-point instructions. The floating-point constructors
76&lsquo;<samp>.float</samp>&rsquo;, &lsquo;<samp>.single</samp>&rsquo;, and &lsquo;<samp>.double</samp>&rsquo; always emit the
77<small>IEEE</small> format. To assemble hexadecimal floating-point constants the
78&lsquo;<samp>.long</samp>&rsquo; and &lsquo;<samp>.quad</samp>&rsquo; directives must be used.
