1******************************************** 2Buildroot for Engicam Is.IoT SOM platforms: 3******************************************** 4 5This file documents the Buildroot support for all Engicam Is.IoT MX6UL 6SOM platform boards. 7 8Is.IoT MX6UL SOM Starter kits: 9https://www.engicam.com/vis-prod/101122 10 11This configuration uses U-Boot mainline and kernel mainline. 12 13Build 14===== 15 16First, configure Buildroot for the Engicam Is.IoT MX6UL SOM: 17 18- for Is.IoT MX6UL SOM: 19 20 make engicam_imx6ul_isiot_defconfig 21 22Build all components: 23 24 make 25 26You will find the following files in output/images/: 27 - imx6ul-isiot-emmc.dtb 28 - rootfs.ext4 29 - rootfs.tar 30 - sdcard.img 31 - SPL 32 - u-boot-dtb.img 33 - uImage 34 35Create a bootable SD card 36========================= 37 38To determine the device associated to the SD card have a look in the 39/proc/partitions file: 40 41 cat /proc/partitions 42 43Buildroot prepares a bootable "sdcard.img" image in the output/images/ 44directory, ready to be dumped on a SD card. Launch the following 45command as root: 46 47 dd if=output/images/sdcard.img of=/dev/<your-sd-device> 48 sync 49 50*** WARNING! This will destroy all the card content. Use with care! *** 51 52For details about the medium image layout, see the definition in 53board/engicam/isiot/genimage.cfg 54 55Boot the Is.IoT MX6UL boards with SD boot: 56========================================= 57 58To boot your newly created system: 59- insert the SD card in the SD slot of the board; 60- connect 3-wire RS232 serial port J28 on board, and connect with other 61 serial end or USB cable(if serial-to-usb converter used) using 62 a terminal emulator at 115200 bps, 8n1; 63- close JM3 for sd boot. 64- power on the board. 65 66Enjoy! 67
